Hi! My name is Haley MacLeod and I'm really excited about health technologies.

I'm a PhD candidate in the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University working with Kay Connelly and Katie Siek in the ProHealth group. My dissertation research is on the potential role of technology in the lives of people with rare diseases. During my PhD, I've completed internships at PARC and at Microsoft Research, and I'm currently a UX Research Intern at Facebook in Menlo Park, CA.

I have a Master of Science in Human Computer Interaction (Health Emphasis) from Indiana University. I also have a Bachelor of Commerce with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Calgary in Alberta. While at the University of Calgary, I was a research assistant in the Interactions Lab, working with Tony Tang.

I've done a lot of work as part of graduate student advocacy in my past role as Benefits Officer for the Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) and as Institutional Voice Chair for the Graduate Informatics Student Association (GISA), both at Indiana University. I've been a student volunteer at the CHI conference for a number of years, and am excited to be taking on the role of Student Volunteer Co-Chair for the 2018 & 2019 conferences.
